Molecular Biologist
Medical Writer
Graduated in Molecular Biology, after a brief research experience I started my career in medical-scientific communication. In particular, I decided to focus my attention on biotechnology, as this is a largely unknown sector which nevertheless exerts an increasingly preponderant weight in our society.
My Story
After I graduated, I was a little uncertain about which career to follow. Although I loved studying and staying up to date, spending the whole day in a lab wasn’t what appealed to me most. Likewise, the idea of convincing doctors to choose one product over another in a sales role didn’t excite me either.
That near-Hamletic doubt continued until I came across a medical writer role: it didn’t take long to see my character, attitudes, and abilities all put together in a single profile. There was nothing left to do but throw myself into this adventure, toward new horizons and new satisfactions.
Specialities
I started out with translations in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, and soon found myself taking on my first medical writing assignments. There are no limits to the fields involved: one day you’re writing about a form of cancer, the next about an infectious disease. The work is demanding, but just as exciting.
